      If you find that you are sitting a lot on a daily basis, I would recommend that you begin to add some exercise and stretching into your daily activities.

      First I think you are wise to have the preventative mindset. It is far easier to prevent a problem than it is to fix a problem.

      That said, in my situation, I have two bulging discs in my lower back. This is the result of an accident I was in years back. As a result I had become a coach potato and let myself get way out of shape. This only lead to making things worse for me!

      What I can tell you is that when I found the Unlock Your Hip Flexors program I was living in constant pain and discomfort. Some days were better than others, but the discomfort was always there. I had also developed a routine of poor posture, again adding to the problem.

  9. Thanks for showing a way without surgery to help with opening up your hip flexors. I have a cubicle job and a 45 minute commute one way, so I am sitting most of the day. I do have the option of raising my desk, but haven’t gotten myself to do it yet.

    I like how you talked about the importance of doing it in a certain order and how it can cause more harm by not having the knowledge or experience to know what you are doing. My physical therapist who is also a chiropractor told me that no matter how many adjustments I received they wouldn’t help as much as adding strength to the specific areas my body that are weak.

  13. Hi Brendon, this is such an informative article and I’m sure it could potentially help a lot of people who are in pain. Ricks system looks great as it is vital to make sure you are doing the right exercises to heal these problems and not aggravate them even more. Also, sitting for long periods isn’t good for anybody. My job involves a lot of sitting so I try to make a conscious effort to move around every 30 minutes or so by doing some stretches or a mini power walk. It makes all the difference. I’m glad the system also teaches about nutrition and anti inflammatory foods because this is something that will work well with those hip flexor exercises. Thanks.
