Anabolic Running Product BoxWe all know that running is one of the most popular ways to get your cardio workouts in. We all also know that muscle burns body fat.

So then why are you not seeing the results you might expect?

The answer might shock you, but it is your cardio workout!

Research has proven that long bouts of cardio and endurance training have a negative effect on your testosterone levels. If you did not already know, testosterone is the single biggest factor for muscle growth and weight loss in men!

Here Is What The Experts Have To Say

We have always been told to workout hard and get lots of cardio to achieve the body you want. But as it turns out, that philosophy may actually be holding us back. Let’s take a look at what the experts have to say.

Take this study published in the US National Library of Medicine for example. It’s results show that testosterone levels are found to be higher in untrained men over those that actually train for long periods.

These results have been found in more than one study by the way. The problem to this point is that researchers have not pinned down why this happens. However one possibility is the stress endurance training puts on the body.

Long bouts of cardio actually place a lot of stress on your body. When your body gets stressed out it produces a hormone called Cortisol. It is no secret that Cortisol and Testosterone do not mix.

When it comes to muscle growth and weight loss testosterone and cortisol could not be more opposite. In regards to muscle building, if testosterone is the accelerator. Then Cortisol is definitely the brakes. The 2 mix like oil and water!

The Solution Is Anabolic Cardio

Increased testosterone levels allow us to reduce body fat, build muscle and maintain a high libido. However, increased levels of cortisol have an opposite effect.

Through a process called gluconeogenesis, cortisol decreases lean muscle mass. In addition it can increase belly fat around your mid section, suppress your immune system and decrease your sex drive.

So what is a guy supposed to do? There is no doubt that running and other forms of cardio have amazing benefits. But how can we get the best of both worlds?

Running and Cardio Options

The simplest answer is to adjust the way we approach your cardio workouts. That is where the Anabolic Running Program comes in.

The trick is not the time you spend on your cardio. The solution is found in what you put into those workouts. Instead of long drawn out sessions, think rapid high intensity workouts to get the job done.

This form of work out is commonly referred to as High Intensity Interval Exercise (HIIE). It lower the duration of stress on the body and boost you beyond the Lactic Threshold. This allows your body to maintain T levels and boost muscle growth!

  1. Hi
That was an interesting article. I’ve not come across anabolic running before. I’ve heard of ‘HIIT’ but I never really got into it. Might give it a try again.
Don’t know if it’s for real or just another fad but I’ll try anything to find out for myself.
If I had had any cash to spare I may of been tempted to buy the program.

    1. Hey Les,

Glad you found the article interesting. But more importantly, I am glad I have sparked your interest in HIIT, or HIIE depending on the circles you are in. Both are one in the same, some just use the word “training” while others use “exercise”.

Les I can definite;y assure you that these principals are not just another fad. I have been on and off with HIIT since the early 90’s. I was first introduced to while playing high school baseball. To tell the truth, it has always been a favorite of mine.

Now that I am in my forties, and life and work get in the way. I have started to focus on HIIT workouts exclusively. First they take up way less time, and are not required as much as other disciplines of working out.

Les I definitely recommend giving HIIT a go, and the Anabolic Running program is a great way to get started!
